Buffet Assistant Duties and responsibilities

 

  • Clocking in and out

  • Uniform care and presentation

  • Personal hygiene

  • Following company staff policy

  • Health & safety procedures and adherence

  • Hygiene (understanding and following in all areas)

  • Obtain necessary qualifications or certificates

  • Filling in all temperature control and relevant CCP paperwork

  • Opening up and set up

  • Regular Equipment checks

  • All areas cleaning including dessert fridges and lighting

  • Checking on bain marie water levels including cleaning and refilling

  • Chocolate fountain set up and operating procedures

  • Food ordering including timing and portion control

  • Correct & safe delivery of food

  • Food quality control

  • Change over portion control and ordering

  • Labelling, dating and covering of all products

  • Correct refilling procedure of all items

  • Ice cream serving and top up

  • Assisting when required to cook pancakes and waffles

  • Fruit preparation, care and set up

  • Close down food and wastage control

  • Close down cleaning and bain marie water top up

  • Timings of switching on and off bain maries

  • Salad, refilling and set up

  • Regular changing of serving spoons and tongs

  • Understanding and using portion control smaller bowls when needed

  • Refreshing food trays when needed

  • Refilling prawn crackers, poppadum’s and seaweed

  • Preparing and serving duck pancakes

  • All condiment & sauce refilling procedures

  • Ensuring food is topped up with level of the business

  • Working with print out of bookings to run buffet smoothly and efficiently

  • Wastage control and procedures

  • Re- filling of dessert fridges and products to keep up with demand

  • Knowledge of dishes and allergy information for customers

  • Understanding the theatre kitchen departments and menu to assist customers

  • Customer service skills

  • Department equipment use, cleaning and maintenance
